All about hedgehogs

Hedgehog close upThe European hedgehog, which goes under the more formal name, Erinaceus europaeus, belongs to the group of mammals called Eulipotyphla, which includes moles and shrews and that used to be part of the group Insectivora, meaning ‘insect eating’ – and their appearance makes them unmistakable. Several thousand creamy brown, sharp spines cover their backs.
