Glad to hear that you have some hogs there.

I hope the little hog was ok. Hopefully there won’t be a re-occurance, but just in case – Normally if you find a hog out in the open in the daytime, just sitting there or looking as if it’s sunbathing, it might need help from a carer. If you find one again in such circumstances, the best thing to do is contact your local carer – you can explain all the facts to them – and take their advice. You can get contact details of your nearest carer by ringing 01584 890801 (number also at the bottom left of this page).

It’s a good idea to leave water available for the hogs all day every day. Wide but shallow plant saucers are ideal for this. The ones I use are from about 8 inches across – hogs are very good at tipping up the smaller ones! But not so deep that a hoglet could get trapped in them.
