Hi Hoglips,
we had a male last year who would come for some food and then lie in wait in the shrubbery at the side for a hour or so. we suspected he was waiting to see if any females were going to turn up for the food and stand him a chance of some romance. it could have been that he just wanted a rest after eating and drinking in an environment he felt relatively safe in though.
