Henry, Hedgehog Officer for PTES, giving a talk in the city

Most British people could recognise a hedgehog but not everyone has seen a wild one, and even fewer people understand why we need to help them.

Once you have made a hole in your fence and added some features that hedgehogs like to your garden (if you have one), the next step is the wider environment.

One great way of changing the way your neighbours think about hedgehogs is by giving a talk.

We understand that there is a great appetite for a general interest talk about hedgehog ecology and conservation and so we have responded to this demand by producing a free slideshow.

This covers all of the key aspects of hedgehog biology, behaviour, the threats they face and the things everybody can do to help them.

The slides are accompanied with informative notes to help you

The talk is endorsed by PTES and BHPS and has been approved by hedgehog experts Dr Pat Morris, Dr Nigel Reeve and Hugh Warwick.

The talk is based on the best available scientific evidence about hedgehogs presented in an engaging manner, with notes attached to help you deliver it.

→ The talk is in the “FREE downloadable resources” section of ‘My Hedgehog Street’.

All you need to do to download the talk is log into ‘My Hedgehog Street’ using you Hedgehog Champion username and password.

If you don’t have one of these, then registration is simple!

Good luck and thank you for spreading the word about hedgehog conservation.
