Hedgehog watching- a risky hobby!

  Last night I was sat very quiet and still in my garden to watch the hedgehogs. I was out for a couple hours watching the three regular visitors investigate the new hedgehog house I’d set up for them. I was sat so quiet watching their activities that I completely failed to notice that a passing slug was eating my toe! It’s only when I started to get flashes of pain that I pulled my foot away and realised the slug had been rasping away for so long that it had taken a patch of skin off and my poor toe was raw and bleeding. I know that slugs eat carrion but I do think it could have had the grace to wait until I was actually dead!

  Yuk! But next thing you know people will be having slug pedicures to remove the dead skin, instead of fish pedicures – although maybe not – can’t see it catching on, somehow! But stranger things have happened!
