The hogs have already emerged from hibernation – 2nd March! Nights still sub-zero, but they’re obviously very hungry and thirsty. Drinking gallons! Food and camera out every night from now until November!

Hi HorraceHoggi, Yes the hedgehogs will be starting to come out of hibernation now. Hope you have a good season. In my neck of the woods Have had them come in for food all winter. At least 4 at one time. Leave cameras out to keep track of them.

Hi, glad to hear hedgehogs are starting to wake up. I haven’t seen any in my garden yet, I have started to leave out food and water is out all year round. Like both of you, cameras are now out. Happy hoggie watching 👍

    Good evening,
I am relieved that some people are seeing hedgehogs and in their usual number. This year, one of our regular hedgehogs arrived on the 10th of March, stayed for a week in one of the hedgehog boxes and moved on, but he’s been our only sighting , which is very unusual and worrying. Our cameras are focused, food and water supplied as usual but no takers. We usually get between 3 and 5 regular visitors, so it is slightly concerning.

    Hi Barbarah

Please don’t worry, I’m sure your visitors will return. The hedgehogs returned to our garden later this year. We have 3 hedgehog houses, I only thought 1 was occupied, but I now know 2 are, not sure about the 3rd. I don’t like to check as I would hate to disturb any occupant/s. We have at least 4 visiting hogs. Keep leaving food and water out, you will be rewarded for your patience 🤞

Am having a good season so far but we know that can change. Last night when I went out with the food there were four by the front door. Always put a bit of food there as it is on their route.

    Hi William

How sweet, sounds like they enjoy visiting your house, ready and waiting for waiter service 🙂.

Hope you continue to have a great season. I feel so privileged to have some visit and some stay in my garden
