NHMP spotting competition
24th November 2025
Counting hogs
We’re using a combination of camera traps, AI and citizen science to monitor hedgehogs in our National Hedgehog Monitoring Programme. We need your help to tag hedgehogs and other wildlife in the camera images, and by becoming a ‘spotter’ now you’ll be in with a chance of winning a state of the art trail camera.

WIN a trail camera
Follow the steps below to be in with a chance of winning a state of the art Ursus Trail Camera, courtesy of NatureSpy.

- Head over to Mammal Web to find the trail camera image sequences.
- Start tagging – log the wildlife you can see in the images.
- Every image sequence you submit gains you a ticket in the prize draw. The more you classify, the better your chances of winning.
- You have until the end of the year to tag as many images as you can and maximise your chances of winning.
The competition closes on 31st December, and the winner will be contacted via the email used to register on Mammal Web. Good luck!
