I have had 2 hedgehogs coming to my garden for over 4 months and I leave food out every night and water, hedgehog Semi moist food. However they both have not been around for at least 11 days now and I am worried is this normal. As they both have been coming around every night between 9pm and 5am I have 2 night cameras

From February onwards, I had around a dozen visits each night. Couldn’t tell if it was all different hogs or some making repeat visits – but suddenly none at all since early July. No idea why.

Some hogs will probably be hibernating by now. It isn’t always solely temperature related.

Morning, we support hedgehogs 🦔 by releasing them via our local hedgehog hospital. Our garden has been a hedgehog sanctuary for the last four months. Very much like you, we’ve had very little activity over the last week. We’ve noticed a lot of our nest tunnels are full of autumnal debris.
They may have gone into hibernation but keep leaving food out 🦔 I think it’s wonderful how many of us are really trying to support their numbers.

I haven’t seen any hogs on my trail camera since July 6th. I’ve been putting food and water out despite this but is it time to stop now till the Spring?

If you can, please keep leaving food and water out for them. Sometimes they wake up over winter ❄️ and move nests. They may need some extra fuel to help them make it over the season. 🦔🦔
