Be interested to see the evidence that the A24 traps kills hedgehogs. Intuitively it seems quite smart to use a very specific attractant for the target species, and hard to imagine that hedgehogs will be attracted to rat and stoat “smells”. If it doesn’t (attract hedgehogs) then it could be very positive for hedgehogs and certainly wildlife in general. At the moment a vast amount of poison is being used (necessarily) in bait stations to kill rats, with a potential knock on to carrion (e.g. cats, birds of prey) not to mention poison bait getting into the general environment and being negative to other small mammals and birds.
