Our over-wintering hedgehog seems to have vacated his house for a springtime wander. What is the best thing to do with the bedding in the house, do we leave or clean out and put some fresh straw in? Thanks.

The following is a link to the Hedgehog Street tips re. cleaning out hog houses, which gives advice better than I could do! In this case, I wouldn’t put the old bedding on your compost heap, because of the parasite content, but dispose of it elsewhere.
