Winners of the Hedgehog Street Arts and Crafts Competition
14th May 2025
We had fantastic entries into the Hedgehog Street Arts and Crafts Competition. Now that the competition is closed, we are delighted to announce the winners!
Best Under 7’s Winner

Wilf and Baxter Bramwell and Charlie made a sign called ‘Woodstone Lane Gang Bug and Hedgehog Hotel.’
Wilf, his little brother Baxter, and friend Charlie created this placard to let people know that a patch of green space near their home is a special area for wildlife. They love nature and wildlife and they enjoyed creating this space over the past few weekends.
Best 7+ Winner

Emily Alfreds (age 7) made a diorama called ‘Hedgehog Wonderland.’
Hedgehog Champion Emily showed how to make the edges of her example garden a haven for hedgehogs by using hedgehog highways, log piles, feeding stations, hedgehog homes, leaf piles, wild corners, and by speaking to neighbours. She had fun making this every night before bedtime!
Best Conservation Message Winner

Lottie Slaney (age 7) made this drawing on how to ‘Give Hedgehogs the Edge.’
In this striking artwork, Lottie gave great examples of the competition theme ‘give hedgehogs the edge’ by reminding garden owners to let the edges of their gardens run wild, install wildlife safe ponds, create hedgehog highways, and leave out water for hedgehogs.
Best Overall Winner

Our special judge, Hugh Warwick, chose Felicity’s mixed media artwork as the standout winner of the competition. This piece was made of real fern and foxglove leaf prints and a hedgehog drawn with coloured pencils.
Thank you to everyone who entered into the Arts and Crafts Competition! The Hedgehog Street Team loved seeing your fabulous creations.
