Catch up on our talk: Hedgehogs on Roads

21st April 2021

Recently our Hedgehog Officer, Grace, teamed up with PhD student Lauren Moore to present an interesting talk on the problems and solutions for hedgehogs on roads.

If you missed the talk, please click here to watch the recording.

Lauren is conducting a long term study on hedgehogs as part of her PhD at Nottingham Trent University, which is funded by PTES. In the talk she presents her recent findings regarding hedgehogs travelling at night and crossing roads.

Lauren is trying to find out which roads hedgehogs cross, at what time of night and how often. She tells us how her team tracked them, what they found and what we can do to reduce hedgehog fatalities.

Hedgehog Street are proud to be a supporter of Lauren’s work and we are looking forward to hearing about her upcoming project about hedgehog tunnels.
