Hi Palladium

So sorry to hear about the dead hedgehogs – very sad. You may like to honour their memory by entering them on the Big Hedgehog Map (accessed via the home page of Hedgehog Street). This, amongst other things, helps to give a fuller picture of how hedgehogs are dying and may help towards safety measures, such as road signs, etc. in the future and be of help to other hedgehogs.

There isn’t anything we can do directly to keep them out of harms way. They are wild animals and have to be allowed to be wild and free. Linking gardens, however, can potentially make it less likely that they will need to go on the roads to find sufficient suitable habitat. So if there is anything you can do to encourage people in your area to make holes under their fences, that would be a great help to the hedgehogs. Also encouraging people to improve the habitat for hedgehogs in their gardens.

You may also like to ‘sign’ the petition at:

and encourage others to do likewise.

Good luck.
