Hi FayRose

Welcome to the Forum.

The sad thing is that hedgehogs seem to be doing worse in the countryside than they are in more built up areas. The following are a collection of links, which you might find interesting/useful.

The best thing I can suggest is to make your garden as hedgehog friendly as possible, make sure there is good access (which it sounds as if there is) and hope that a hedgehog makes it’s way there. If one does, you can encourage it to keep visiting by providing some supplementary food.

Keep an eye out for hedgehog droppings, which if they have been eating wild food, are usually a blackish colour, often with shiny bits visible from beetle wings.

There is loads more information on Hedgehog Street, it is worth having an exploration of all the different sections.

Good luck.
