Hi Sarah, you have it in one. I get the same feeling, of all the gardens around they choose mine to hang out. Some stay in the houses during the daylight hours, and others go back to where they came from. At the moment I have 5 juveniles coming in for food and one adult. Have three cameras out keeping track of their movements.
When winter comes I get a sigh of relief and sadness. Relief that I have a couple of months off, and sadness that I wont be seeing them. But it is our human trait, in the main we are compassionate and caring. But then I cant wait until spring and start all over again.
