Hi John

I think it is still worth getting a hog house. Hedgehogs are known sometimes to move nests during hibernation so there is that possibility, but also there are some hedgehogs who decide not to hibernate at all – probably mostly youngsters. The house may or may not be used, but that is always the case. Sometimes a hog house needs to become part of the landscape for some hogs to use them, and other times a hog will move in almost immediately. If no-one moves in during the winter, at least there would be a nice house waiting for a tenant in the Spring when the hogs return from hibernation.
