Possibly but not necessarily. Hedgehogs have ranges rather than territories and their ranges overlap. So that two males or two females or a male and female could have overlapping ranges.

Their interactions/behaviour can sometimes give some hints about whether they are male or female.

I wrote a response to someone else recently – link to topic below – with tips on how to tell male from female. Which might help. 4th April 2020.
