Removing the tick will NOT have killed him so don’t worry.
The fact that it needed rescuing meant it had something serious wrong with it. Your local rescue centre should have passed you onto someone else if they couldn’t help.

Going forward if you find another and your rescue centre won’t take it then try the BHPS for another carer or your local vet or the rspca
As hogs are notcurnal and normally fairly elusive, if you find one that needs help it usually means that it’s already pretty sick and we have a very small window of opportunity to treat them. It is often already too late, but at least we can euthanase and put out of their misery when that is the case.
