I’ve tried to identify different hogs from distinctive features but from only looking at black and white video footage I find the only way I can reliably tell them apart is from size and from pale coloured spines which seem to show up well under the ultraviolet light the wildlife cameras use to illuminate the area. I’ve noticed most of the hogs I see tend to have blotches of pale spines on their back end and I tell them apart from the shape of the blotches. Is there some reason they often appear to have these marks on their back ends?
