Hi Nic.
Thanks very much for the info, I’ll give them a call. Unfortunately, we only capture footage on camera, so by the time I watch it, the heggies are long gone to bed! The response to my Facebook message indicates that people around here seem to be very hog-friendly and are only putting out specialist food.
Last night, we captured a youngster on video again, but this one looked very healthy. It gave the food bowl a good sniff, but wasn’t interested in the contents.
I suspect that the poorly heggie from the previous night was a different one, perhaps with health issues, perhaps the runt of a litter? We think we might have seen this one earlier in the summer, it tripped over the edge of one of the patio slabs, and it struck me then as unusual to see a hedgehog that was clumsy. I’ll keep an eye out for it, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to do much more for it. By the way, Nic, you’re very knowledgeable!
