A lot of ticks on a hog can be a sign of illness, however it is normal for hogs to carry some ticks. I suggest you shine a torch on the hog – ticks will usually show up clearly white ish, although many ticks are also black or brown. If there appear to be more than 10 – 15 on it then it may need to see a carer. If it’s just the odd one then don’t worry about it
