That sounds interesting! I haven’t seen a hog doing that before. Do you know if Muffin actually ate the worm in the end? Or might she have thought it was suitable nesting material? Is there a nest in the box? Could she have young ones?
I wonder whether Muffin has ever had a stay with a carer/rehabilitator? There hogs might have got used to having their food in the same place that they sleep.
It would be interesting to know if she continues with that sort of behaviour. Look forward to the next instalment!
