I think it could be managable, but it does mean taking a few precautions and it depends whether you and your other half are prepared to take those precautions. (Although, it may be sensible to take those precautions anyway, as the hog seems to have decided to visit your garden whether you offer it food and housing or not!) Dogs can cause fatal injuries to hogs and dogs can be injured by hogs’ spines – both of which, I imagine you would want to do your very best to avoid.
