I think if you had several hedgehogs there before, and you make holes in your fence for them to come and go, they will probably come back to visit, again. The best way is to let them come to you naturally. Try to make your garden more hedgehog friendly and, especially make sure there is a plentiful supply of water for them to drink – very important when the weather is hot.
