Great to see at least one hedgehog dining for the last 9 nights at the feeding hut in my garden; previous appearance was 13th December. Glad I continued to offer food and water every night! Night temperatures have been about +9 C, usually wet but not very windy.

Looks like the hedgehogs come and go via a highway between my garden and the adjacent primary school playing field which seems to be working well as an urban green corridor. If you live adjacent to a school and have visiting hedgehogs do let the school staff know how important the school grounds can be for hedgehog mobility! The staff at my adjacent school have really engaged with this topic – helping the children spot holes in fences and put up BHPS ‘Hedgehog highway’ signs! Great way to encourage children to gain an understanding of nature’s intertwined dependencies.
