    Firstly Hi hog people,

I have a farm, we have chickens, they are free range so I have an automatic feeder, it lets the chickens have food when they stand on a platform that weighs them to make sure they are not a rat, our resident hog family has worked this out and feed from the chicken feeder which I do not mind at all.
My question is firstly is chicken food OK for them but more importantly is chicken food with wormer in it OK, the wormer is Flubenvet.
I have googled loads and can’t find an answer so hope you guys can help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

I’m not sure about that wormer. I suggest you either call the BHPS direct or Vale Wildlife hospital who will be able to advise you further

I’ve been feeding hedgehogs now for a few years, but this year I am noticing them feeding early evening and early morning during daylight hours. They all appear healthy and have big appetites. Is this just because with the hard ground they are finding grubs/beetles harder to find ? One has just had a drink at 7.30 am.
Normally daylight feeding is a sign of hedgehogs in distress.

Yes this weather is terrible for hogs unable to dig out worms etc. I would never worry too much about early morning/evening feeding – in a few months it’ll be dark! As long as they appear active and purposeful in their actions then it should be ok
