Hedgehogs show worrying decline over last 10 years.

UK Hedgehog numbers have declined by a quarter over the last decade. The reasons for their decline are complex, but are thought to include loss of hedges, increased field sizes and pesticide use in the countryside. In urban areas the move towards tidy, sterile gardens has contributed to their decline.
