NHMP Camera Competition
9th May 2025
In honour of this year’s Hedgehog Awareness Week, we’re launching a special competition for you to win a state of the art NatureSpy wildlife camera.

We’re using a combination of camera traps, AI and citizen science to monitor hedgehogs, and we need your help to tag hedgehogs and other wildlife in the camera images. By becoming a ‘spotter’ you’ll be contributing to vital conservation work.
This is part of the National Hedgehog Monitoring Programme (NHMP), an exciting pilot project that will produce robust hedgehog population estimates for the first time. The NHMP is led by PTES and BHPS, in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, Zoological Society of London, Mammal Web, London HogWatch and Durham University. Find out more HERE.

The competition
- The spotter who tags the most NHMP images in May will WIN a WiFi WildCam 2 (pictured below!), courtesy of NatureSpy.
- We’ve also got extra prizes to give away to plenty of top spotters, so don’t worry if you don’t think you’re in top position – you could still be in with a chance of a prize!

How to get involved
- You’ll need to sign up for a MammalWeb account if you don’t already have one.
- Then select the NHMP project to classify.
- Get tagging the images (be careful – it can be addictive!).
