Partnering with Taylor Wimpey

30th April 2021

We have recently teamed up with one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, Taylor Wimpey, to support nature by integrating hedgehog highways into their new build developments. As part of a commitment to increase habitat and support conservation efforts for native species, Taylor Wimpey will be adding the CD sized holes to their fencing to enable hedgehogs to move freely around their developments.

Hedgehogs travel around a mile a night, so making sure gardens are connected will mean the hedgehogs can roam in search of food and mates. Lack of connected habitat as well as habitat loss are two of the biggest threats hedgehogs face.

Environment Strategy

Taylor Wimpey’s plans come as part of a commitment to ambitious climate and nature goals, involving reducing their carbon emissions, using 100% renewable energy, enabling sustainable living for customers and improving insect habitat through a partnership with Buglife.

We are thrilled that Taylor Wimpey has taken this step to commit to such an ambitious and positive environmental strategy. We hope that other developers will follow their lead.
