I looked outside very late last night. It was still ridiculously warm out there after yet another very hot day. One hedgehog was happily eating the kitten biscuits I’d spread on the lawn (water dishes are in the garden too). Another hog was lying flat, legs splayed, on the lawn, ignoring everything. It was breathing. I checked a few hours later. It had gone. Do you think it was just trying to cool down?
