I currently volunteer for a local wildlife rescue and we have had a very large amount of young and adult hedgehogs in over summer . I’ve had three at home to recuperate and release. My girls often huff and make noises usually because they are warning you to leave them alone lol. They are solitary animals and do not like to be handled. They will make noises to scare away another hedgehog or similar.
