They will do this if they are very hungry – so probably as a result of just coming out of hibernation and having found a supply of available food I would suggest.
Likely to settle once their immediate hunger and thirst has settled, but keep an eye on it and keep supplying the food as they will be heavily reliant on it at this stage.
