Spotted 3 hedgehogs lastnight, 2 together huffing and puffing at each other and the other having a midnight feast in the feeding station

    Hi Paula

Sounds like your two huffing and puffing hedgehogs are a male and female doing a courtship ‘dance’. I always think they seem to waste an aweful lot of time with the male circling the female, sometimes for hours. Hopefully there will be some hoglets in the not too distant future.

The one having the midnight feast sounds like the sensible one!

Love your collection of photos for your id.

I too heard huffing and puffing whilst putting the hog food out tonight. Hoping the effort was worth while. Can’t wait to get the 3 ladies back from carer (sadly the little boy didn’t make it, a shock as he was doing well at first) as there might be more huffing and puffing and more chance of the patter of tiny feet! Fingers crossed for a bumper crop of hoglets this year!
