    Hi All,

I’ve been feeding 3 hedgehogs for a couple of months now. I put out cat biscuits in a plastic box with a hedgehog sized hole cut in it to stop the local cats getting the food first. I also leave out a bowl of water.
Previously the hedgehogs have eaten every morsel of the food but recently they seem to be disinterested in it. I usually still get visits from all 3 each night but they forage around the garden and ignore the biscuits.

Have they got bored of the food? Should I keep leaving it out or are they getting enough insects instead? Or should I try something different?

Has anyone experienced this behaviour? They seemed to really love the biscuits previously.

Any advice would be appreciated 🙂

Sorry, if this appears to be a late answer. have only just come across the post.
Don’t forget that, we are supplementing the hogs’ diet (maybe all year) and if they are getting enough during their foraging that will come first.
I worry on the little site that I’m on that most of the supplementary goes every night, as well as the water, which probably means that they are not getting enough natural forage on the site.
They do feed and evacuate twice nightly; the poo that i pick up most mornings is not the classic shape, colour, formation which tells me that they are probably not getting enough natural food.
The science in the book from years ago showed that, hogs. usually have similar routes each night but they don’t come straight to supplementaries first, going on their own route to find forage first.
Hope this helps. keep supporting them though, please. Small kitten kibble if it’s dry food and water.
