    Hi guys,

I, like yourselves, am a big fan of hedgehogs and was distraught when my husband spotted two dead hedgehogs on the High Road in North Weald. This isn’t the first time either.

I wrote Epping Council to see what we could do to prevent more hedgehog deaths as they’re an endangered species.

Cars drive too quickly at night, and unfortunately, these creatures are the ones who pay a big price.

I’ll let you know what Epping Forest Council says. Huge signs warning cars of hedgehog crossing areas would be great.

    Hi Sonia9308,

Have you see Hugh Warwicks petition also on one of the other Forum threads?

    Hi Sonia

So sorry to hear about the dead hedgehogs. Always a very sad thing to hear about.

I understand there are hedgehog crossing signs available. Chris Grayling (Secretary of State for Transport) is a hedgehog species champion. So hopefully, if it is a ‘hotspot’ they will be able to do something. https://www.hedgehogstreet.org/chris-grayling-mp-new-hedgehog-species-champion/

    Good luck.
