Hi , There has been a lot of development in Doncaster one area has seen in a mile and a half two mile radius by the same developer , at least 4 big housing developments , like everywhere in the UK but this is a small area . They are about to go in just up the road , this is a farming small village and a lot of new houses already have been built . We have asked the developers if they are using Hedgehog friendly gravel board that cost the same as normal ones as we know there are many hedgehogs present as we see in our gardens every night and living just a few metres from the fact , in fact there is a hedge running a good half mile along the field where the houses will be built that has been there a lot more than 50 years where hedgehogs have been seen .
We have questioned the chief developer Katy Purnam of Stonebridge homes and she said they don’t have to put them in so they are not going to do and when asked how much of the hedge is to be removed she wouldn’t say . They are doing the bare minimum for nature . I can not understand how they get away with it when something costs the same and there is such awareness . Any help would be grateful and how can we make it so such things are law we have to . Sara
