I’m surprised that again, advice on feeding hedgehogs on HH Street hasn’t pointed out that any dog or cat food (wet or dry) MUSTN’T contain fish as they are intolerant to it. Upset tummies at this vital time of the year, when we want them putting on weight, is not good!

Did contact HH Street last time to remind them, but here it’s not mentioned again. 😢

Our garden camera regularly picks up our spikey visitors and one (?) has started hoovering under an upside down bird baffle laid on the ground (to catch the spare pellets, so they’re not wasted) to reach the odd suet pellet left on the ground by the birds.

The latest advice now no longer states not to feed food with fish.

Note that the amount of fish actually in fish flavoured food is tiny and won’t cause any issues. A lot of other flavour cat and nearly all dog food contains fish and fish derivatives.
