Has anyone else seen evidence of enormous hedgehog poo? and I mean enormous! I am used to seeing the small black sticky poos all over the patio and in the feeding station but yesterday there were 2 enormous presents in the feeding station! Still black and sticky but cat poo sized – if I was asked to offer a comparison! Nothing else can get in – or at least nothing bigger can get in – as the access hole is hedgehog sized and nothing strange was captured on the camera. I’m just wondering if post hibernation their digestive system goes into overdrive for a day or so? They are eating well and there is no evidence of vomiting. Just curious!

    Hi DwarfHog

Some of the bigger hogs do do quite big poos, but having said that I wouldn’t like to guarantee a cat couldn’t get through a hog sized hole. They seem to have managed to get into my hog boxes in the past, so I don’t imagine an access hole would give them much trouble. Although, then there’s the absence of cats on cameras. Not sure about the post hibernation theory – I haven’t seen any evidence of that here and it doesn’t sound logical to me, but I could be wrong and someone else might know differently.

Yep. Very big poos in comparison to late last year. Maybe they’re getting rid of some of the fibre they’ve stored up!!
