For several weeks now since the end of hibernation a hedgehog has visited our garden nightly and eaten well from the hedgehog feeding station. Now, for 2 nights in a row, no visitors. We live in a quiet suburban area with next to no night time traffic and no signs of injured or dead hogs about. Has my regular visitor just moved on? I was wondering if it might be a male off on the hunt for a female. Any reassurances would be welcome as it has been a joy to see him/her caught on camera.

    Hi ShropHogs

Sorry to hear the hedgehog there has gone missing. Although it may not necessarily be bad news. As you say, it could be a male hunting for females – or if you aren’t sure whether it is male or female, a female off producing youngsters?

Fingers crossed the hog turns up again, safe and well. (and if there are hoglets in tow all the better!)

    Good luck!

Thanks Nic. Fingers crossed. Sadly still no sightings but I will report back on here if (hopefully) he/she turns up.
