    Hi
I have had two or three hogs visiting my patio all summer.. ever snorting if I forgot to put out their Spike food.
I bought them a nice house, covered it with logs and moss and bracken and old leaves.
Now they seem to have vanished…!!
But the food goes every night but no ‘calling cards’
I wonder if they have hibernated.. they dont seem to be in their little house though…
I may have to get a little camera to see what is going on.. I bet its next doors cat scoffing the food…
    Happy Hog days.

    Hi laurabiding

Well it could be the cats! It wouldn’t be at all surprising of they had gone to hibernate now. Some take a while before they will adopt a hog house preferring to hibernate under a shed or even build a nest amongst some bushes.

I always leave food out, at least for a couple of weeks after all the hogs have disappeared, because sometimes they disappear and come back a bit to start with. Many of us leave some food out all winter in case.

Often, at this time of year it’s just a question of hoping they come back safe and well in the Spring.
