We have a big problem with cats in our area using our garden as a toilet so we have tried to make it cat proof but not hog proof so when the cat decided to squeeze under our gate to get in using the same route as the hogs I was unchuffed. The only solution was to build a tunnel through the fence and block up the gap under the gate which we did with great trepidation as we didn’t want to put the hogs off but the clever hogs worked out they could use the tunnel to get in very quickly and now it’s like the Dartford crossing most nights!!!! Perhaps I should start charging a toll 😂

Well done! Hogs are incredibly agile and smart – if there might be food on offer they seem to be able to work out any obstacles in their way. Charging a toll might be a plan – but they will say that you have to be able to see them actually use the tunnel before they are prepared to pay. You may know by now that hogs can ‘materialise’ at a feeding station without having been previously picked up on any trail camera – and dematerialise just as easily!

That’s really brilliant, Pupbelly. So pleased you managed to solve the problem and the clever hogs worked it out so quickly!
