Have been taking great pleasure in observing a female hog visiting the garden to feed nightly for about a month. She was joined by a very large excitable male and the couple were inseparable for two nights. I’ve done my homework and have calculated she must have hogletts by now. She is still coming out to feed every night so fingers crossed my dedication to hog welfare will be rewarded by a glimpse of the little ones very soon!

    Hi-
I too am waiting for hoglets. According to my calculations- from when I saw her with her boyfriend- there should be babies close by.
She was living in our hedgehog house until quite recently(she hibernated in it) but I am hoping she moved out to a nice clean nest for giving birth.
    Time will tell.
Please let me know if you see any little ones.

Don’t be too disappointed if hoglets don’t arrive quite when you expect them. The hedgehogs lengthy ‘courtship’ doesn’t necessarily mean that mating took place at that time, but hopefully having males and females around might mean hoglets at some stage. Fingers crossed.
