Sometimes the food is all gobbled up but sometimes only a nibble. How long is it ok to leave left over food before I should replace with fresh food?
    I normally use Spikes food.

    Hi Indy

I’m not familiar with Spikes food – I understand there are different varieties. But if it’s dry food you can probably offer it again, possibly a few nights, depending on conditions. i.e. if it’s really hot I probably wouldn’t leave food out as long as I would in the winter. And if it’s had slugs in it, I would throw the remains away. But if wet cat/dog food, I would only leave out one night, anyway, because flies might lay eggs in it.

I don’t usually have a problem here, because more often than not, the birds finish off anything the hogs and cats may have left!
