After helping a friend find a rescue for a hedgehog she’d found wandering during the day, I found myself mesmerised by the wonderful work carried out by our local rescue. Sophie Hanks is a mum of four and works tirelessly to help our local hoggies. Impressed by her dedication, I published a Christmas story for children called Hoglets’ Christmas Magic. The main characters are Prickles & Primrose, two adorable hoglets. So far the story has been a hit with both adults and children and every copy sold £1.00 goes to the Happy Hogs Hedgehog Rescue in Wooton, Lincolnshire.
I feel it’s terribly important to help raise money for the wonderful people who help rescue and rehabilitate these precious mammals. I’m aware it’s a tough but rewarding job and by raising funds I like to think I’m doing my bit to help hedgehogs. Sadly, I’ve learned this year that a lot of underweight hedgehogs just didn’t make it. Let’s hope next year is a different story and that more hedgehogs are found in time so we can save them.

    Hi Cresswelllyn

That’s a great idea! I hope all goes well and you make lots of money for the hog rescue.

    Good luck.
