Hello all, Moth118 did you ever solve your problem with night time pictures and videos? My vanbar camera has just stopped recording when it’s dark. It did work, using same settings as currently on. Could this be caused by low (but still some charge) battery? Does anyone have other ideas? Thank you.
Could try a factory reset that could be found in menu/setup. Failing that turn the camera on and then after a little while remove the battery case, while still on. Put back after a few minutes and then check setup.
There are lots and lots of cheap trail cameras around and most don’t last or have some faults. The older style have limited battery life and you have to wiat until the following day to see the results.
This camera, from a very reputable company, is a good price, has wi-fi connectivity so you can watch the live feed and is mains rechargeable. Although it has an SD card you don’t need to keep removing it to view recordings it’s all wireless (it will send alerts to your phone when it senses activity).
The only slight fiddle is that if you want to keep a recording you have to play back the original on your phone and video it, this puts it into a standard file format you can mail or WhatsApp or edit etc. We generate hundreds of videos over the season so we rarely keep that many unless it’s something special, so it’s no big deal.
Highly recomended.
