I got a surprise this morning when I checked to see if any of the Hedgehog food had been eaten !

For the last few weeks I’d been leaving some food in one of the empty boxes but no takers , so I stopped . On a bit of a whim yesterday I put some more out and this morning it was gone.
I’ve set up the camera next to the feeding box and will see in the morning if any of the hogs have returned for a meal .

One of the boxes has a large nest in it, and when I looked over there was a lot of leaves trailing out of the box, so my guess is there’s a hog from last year hibernating in there. I’m hoping it’s my three legged pal (remember the story of Tripod ? )

When Hedgehogs wake up do they tend to stay awake , or do they miss a few nights ? It’s a horrible night here, freezing cold wind and snow , so he’s not picked a good time to start his adventure!

Yesterday I refilled the food, cleaned and refilled the water bowls, replaced the camera batteries, reformatted the disc and today I am rewarded with images of hogs!! So happy!! Heres to another year of hog watching!

Plenty of Hedgehog pictures this morning, no sign of Tripod though, all four legs present and correct !

Dwarfhog , looking forward to the coming year too ☺️
