White marks

Hello, I have a number of little hedgehogs visiting me, quite often I see white marks on their back. Does anyone know what these are?
I’ve made my profile a picture of the hedgehog with the white marks.

More than likely someone has marked them with white paint. It really stands out with an ir camera.
